[AUDIO] Thoughts of a Jeanius New Music Tuesday: Skillz – “2011 Rap Up” & TI – “F*ck Da City Up”

It’s time for the first New Music Tuesday of 2012 and I want to start by asking the question, is it better to only be relevant once a year, or not at all? That’s what Skillz, formerly Mad Skillz, is known for which is his ‘Rap Ups’ at the end of each year. Most of them besides the 2001 Rap Up have been forgettable, but it’s his time of year to be relevant.

Thee Cody Taylor’s Pick: T.I. – “F*ck Da City Up” (Feat. Young Jeezy)

I know I’ve been picking T.I. for everything lately, but dude just dropped a mixtape, I had to pick this song. The title track off of Tip’s new mixtape F*ck Da City Up dropped New Years Day and the mixtape features some notable names: Dr. Dre, Jeezy, B.o.B., Trey Songz, and Pusha T. I think that’s a questionable day to drop a mixtape as most are recovering from the night before, but it’s out now and available for download.
