#ThrowbackThursday: Blu Cantrell – “Hit Em Up Style” (Oops!)

This week’s Throwback Thursday is indirectly dedicated to Jay Z and Beyonce’s new baby. For this one hit wonder artist who came and went in the summer of 2001, for those who are unaware it was reported that Jay Z cheated on Beyonce with Blu Cantrell, real name Tiffany Cobb. Which is why I was confused as to why they middle named the baby, Blue, only later to find out it was her first name. Supposedly the line, “Oops, I bet you thought I didn’t know, what did you think I was putting you out for,” was aimed at Blu. Anyway back to the song hit the Top 15 in eight countries, and spent two weeks at #2 on the US Hot 100, but that would be her ONLY hit and she just disappeared.
