System of a Down
System of a Down and the Deftones are teaming up for a brief summer tour, starting at the beginning of August. SOAD reunited last year and played a couple of concerts together, this tour will mark the band’s first extended U.S. tour in quite some time.
Don’t count on a new System of a Down album just yet — the band’s lead singer, Serj Tankian, is set to release a solo album on July 10.

The Deftones
The Deftones on the other hand are working on their next album, which they hope to release later this year.
Here are the nine-city tour dates, via Billboard:
08/02 Philadelphia, PA – Susquehanna Bank Center
08/04 Holmdel, NJ – PNC Bank Arts Center
08/05 Wantagh, NY – Nikon at Jones Beach Theater
08/07 Washington, DC – Verizon Center Arena
08/09 Boston, MA – Comcast Center
08/11 Montreal, QC - Heavy Metal Festival Parterre @ Parc Jean Drapeau
08/12 Toronto, ON – Heavy Metal Festival Downsview Park
08/14 Detroit, MI – DTE Energy Amphitheater
08/15 Chicago, IL – Allstate Arena
The article did not mention whether or not there would be more dates added. I’ve seen both bands in concert, separately, but would love to see them together at the same venue. Hopefully their schedules work in favor of adding more dates, at least in Florida.
