ESPN Analysts: Ryan Anderson Picked as Most Improved Player of the Year

According to a panel of 30 ESPN analysts, Ryan Anderson should win the Most Improved Player of the Year Award. The panel went through each major award: Rookie of the Year, Most Improved, Sixth Man, Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and MVP.

Here are the results via ESPN:

Results: Ryan Anderson, Magic (9); Andrew Bynum, Lakers (5); Jeremy Lin, Knicks (4); Nikola Pekovic, Timberwolves (4); Ersan Ilyasova, Bucks (2); Greg Monroe, Pistons (1); DeMarcus Cousins, Kings (1); Goran Dragic, Rockets (1); Marcin Gortat, Suns (1); Daniel Green, Spurs (1); James Harden, Thunder (1).

As for Defensive Player of the Year? Dwight Howard is named just twice, compared to 12 times for Tyson Chandler and nine times for LeBron James.

No love for Stan Van Gundy for Coach of the Year, but considered everything that has gone on in Orlando, I think I’d throw him my vote.
