Orlando Magic Assistant Coach, Patrick Ewing, To Interview For Charlotte Bobcats Coaching Job

According to Yahoo Sports, Patrick Ewing will interview for the Charlotte Bobcats vacant coaching position.

Ewing, who has been an NBA assistant since 2002, when served as an assistant in Washington, he also spent a few seasons with the Rockets, until coming to Orlando in 2006, where he still assists head coach Stan Van Gundy. Ewing has made it clear that he wants a head coaching position over the past few years. I personally believe he hasn’t been offered a position, because in six seasons as an assistant Dwight Howard‘s offensive game has not progressed much, and it wasn’t until he worked with Hakeem Olajuwon that Dwight offensive repertoire was praised, a little.

One thing working in Ewing’s favor is his relationship with Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, they were even spotted a while back at a local college bar hanging with MJ, his sons, and their friends. Ewing almost got the Pistons coaching job last year, but that was given to Lawrence Frank instead.
Do you think Ewing will make a good NBA coach, or is he doomed to be an lifetime assistant? Hit the comments and let us know!
