Rodney King Found Dead in Los Angeles

Rodney King, who is known for being beaten by the LAPD in the 90′s sparking the LA riots after the officers were acquitted, was found dead in a Los Angeles pool this morning. According to TMZ, his girlfriend found him at the bottom of the pool this morning, police attempted to revive him with CPR, but he was pronounced dead at 6:11am PT. Our thoughts and prayers go to the King family.

King recentely participated in VH-1′s Celebrity Rehab, police will open an investigation on his death.

Update #1 August 23 1:12 p.m.

The Associated Press is reporting that King’s death has been ruled an accidental drowning and multiple drugs and alcohol played a role. TMZ is reporting that cocaine, weed, PCP, and alcohol was found in his system.
