To say DMX isn’t happy with Drake‘s connection to Aaliyah‘s posthumous album would be an understatement. DMX appeared on ‘The Breakfast Club’ Thursday morning and let his feelings known for the album, which Drake is apparently executive producing. “Disrespectful, like that don’t even make sense. See that’s what I’m saying, you can’t do shit like that,” DMX said on the show.
He said it was disrespectful after learning that Missy Elliott or Timbaland haven’t even been contacted yet about the album. Then, DMX dropped this gem on us.
A little under two weeks from the eleven year anniversary of her death in an airplane accident plans are being made for a new Aaliyah album, and two people of the people who played an integral part in her rise to the top, Timbaland and Missy Elliott, have been confirmed to NOT be a part of it.
Drake‘s obsession with the late Aaliyah, which led to him getting her face tattooed on his back, has manifested itself in a new track “Enough Said.” The song is produced by YMCMB collaborator Noah “40″ Shebib, so I’m going to assume he made an instrumental based off the late singers recorded vocals.
Fresh off tattoo-gate (linked below), where Drake played tough guy and said he’d fight a tattoo artist for tattooing his name on some chicks forehead. Drake showed off his new tattoo which is a tribute to late R&B singe Aaliyah.
It’s absolutely insane that it’s already been 10 years since Aaliyah passed, and it brings back so many memories. The day after she passed I started at a new store working for Alberson’s, and the day after that was my first day of college. I wanted to do something more than the typical Throwback Thursday to celebrate her memory, so I decided to combine it with my Throwback Thursday with the Thoughts of a Jeanius Top 5: Aaliyah songs.
