Ever since Michael Jordan retired (the first time) in 1993 sports writers and television analysts have been asking the question “who will be the next MJ,” and many names have been thrown out there over the years; Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, Allen Iverson, to the more current Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. Other than Kobe, who many will say is the closest to MJ, and Lebron who most compare to Magic Johnson instead. Well these days it’s still about comparing Lebron and MJ, even though their games are nothing alike. Well at a charity event in Miami, former Heat player Alonzo Mourning might have thrown Scottie Pippen under the bus.
For the second time in as many years Floyd “Money” Mayweather top the Sports Illustrated “Fortunate 50,” which ranks the top 50 paid athletes playing professional sports in America, they can be foreign born but the league must be US based. The earning totals include; salary, winnings, bonuses, and endorsements. SI consulted with a sports marketing firm to contact; players’ associations, tour records, online databases, agents, and media reports. The top 5 included a boxer, two NBA players, an NFL player, and a golfer.
The Miami Heat-Chicago Bulls series keeps getting more physical and interesting, in only the third game. During the second quarter, Bulls center Nazr Mohammed was ejected for shoving LeBron James to the floor.
In some news that is definitely a shock to me, Carmelo Anthony has surpassed Lebron James for the highest selling jersey in the NBA for the 2012-2013 season. Now there might be a little something skewing this ranking, although Knick fans will surely not want to hear it.
Mr. @kingjames no longer has the highest selling jersey in the @nba….. Post on the way soon.

When Danny Ainge chimed in saying that Lebron James should be embarrassed for complaining about not getting calls when the Miami Heat’s 27 game winning streak was ended against the Bulls, I am sure he didn’t expect the response that he received from Heat executive Pat Riley. Riley made some comments about Ainge as a player before telling him to “shut the #@$% up.”
Damn, #PatRiley is a REAL OG…… #NBA #Heat #Celtics
