Matt Cain Throws a Perfect Game
Matt Cain threw a perfect game for the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night against the Houston Astros. Cain threw the 22nd perfect game in Major League Baseball history.
The Giants provided more than enough run support for Cain, scoring 10 runs on 15 hits. Cain struck out 14 on 125-pitches during the rare feat. Those 14 strike outs are tied for the most in a perfect game, tying Sandy Koufax.
The is the first perfect game in 130 years for the Giants organization. Cain’s perfect game is the second of this season, the first going to Chicago White Sox’s Philip Humber on April 21.
