One of my favorite bands, Deftones, have released the first song off of their new album, and also revealed the tracklisting in the process. The band took to their Facebook page to release “Leathers” for an exclusive download through their official website. “Leathers” will appear on the upcoming KOI NO YOKAN, which is scheduled for a November 13 release.
After first listen, “Leathers” seems to be a track that Deftones fans should really like. The band picked a great song to start the buzz leading up to the release date of their seventh full-length album. Deftones have already announced a little more than a dozen tour dates and one would expect more to be announced as they near the release of this upcoming album.
System of a Down and the Deftones are teaming up for a brief summer tour, starting at the beginning of August. SOAD reunited last year and played a couple of concerts together, this tour will mark the band’s first extended U.S. tour in quite some time.
Don’t count on a new System of a Down album just yet — the band’s lead singer, Serj Tankian, is set to release a solo album on July 10.
On today’s Throwback I wanted to showcase one of my favorite bands, The Deftones. I recently had a conversation with a friend about how great the band is so I wanted to give them the Throwback Thursday spotlight. The song comes off of my favorite Deftones album Around the Fur. Without further ado here’s My Own Summer (Shove It).
