In somewhat of an unexpected turn, “Climax,” by Usher has topped another end of the year chart, this time by Billboard.com, topping their ‘Critics Pick Top 20 Songs of 2012.” Now topping any list is seen as somewhat of an accomplishment, keep in mind that this is the same list that Nicki Minaj’s “Superbass,” topped for 2011.
So season 3 of The Voice has just ended and West Palm Beach, Florida’s Cassadee Pope from Team Blake, is the third winner if the competition, making him the first two time winning coach in the show’s short history. Now anyone who has followed this season closely will tell you they saw the end result coming since the beginning of the live shows.
It’s that time of the year when everyone, including us here at Thoughts of a Jeanius, start putting together their Best of 2012 lists. To the best of my knowledge Time Magazine is the first to put their list out, and earlier this week they named the Usher‘s D!plo produced single “Climax,” top song 2012. They certainly have an interesting list, for lack of a better term, which features the likes of Psy, Carlee Rae Jepsen, and Nicki Minaj just to name a few.
Ludacris is back with a banger from his upcoming Ludaversal album, which is set to drop in early 2013. Ludacris joins with long time collaborator Usher and joins once again with David Guetta who he worked with on “Little Bad Girl,” of Guetta’s Nothing but the Beat album which also featured Taio Cruz. Listening to this song it will do very well on radio and definitely in the clubs,
We reported last week that Christina Aguliera was leaving The Voice to focus on her own music followed by the shows producer Mark Burnett clearing up rumors about what would happen to the seats when coaches would have to focus on their own projects. Well we now have our answer. Billboard is reporting that season 5 of the show will see Christina Aguliera and Cee-Lo Green replaced with R&B/Pop superstar Usher and Latin pop star Shakira.
